Our Process
Seven steps between the puddle and the last drip check.
Every leaking water heater gets the same sequence, whether it turns out to be a valve or the tank.
You call
Say where the water is, whether the heater is gas, electric or tankless, and roughly how old it is. You get the likely cause and a cost range.
The heater is made safe
The gas control goes to OFF or the breaker is switched off, and the cold supply is closed if water is still running.
The leak is traced from the top
Connections, nipples and the relief valve are checked first, because water from the top runs down the tank and looks like a bottom leak.
Pressure and the relief valve are checked
A relief valve that keeps opening is often answering high pressure or thermal expansion. That is measured, not guessed.
You hear repair or replace
A valve, fitting or gasket gets repaired. A tank leaking from its body or seam gets replaced. Either way, the quote is written first.
The work is done
The part is replaced, or the old tank is drained and swapped, with a pan, expansion tank and straps where code calls for them.
It is tested
The heater is refilled, brought up to temperature and watched at every joint before anyone leaves.
